Job Summary

Machining forgings and tooling to specified drawings across both manual and CNC machining centers is a key responsibility of this role. The parts machined feed both the commercial and aerospace markets.

Key Objectives
  • Work in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring the safety of oneself and others.
  • Conduct pre-shift H&S checks as specified, including hoist crane checks.
  • Maintain a high standard of workplace housekeeping, adhering to 5s duties.
  • Ensure all quality procedures and processes are followed.
  • Machine parts to drawing specifications.
  • Use measuring equipment, including micrometers, vernier, wall thickness meter, and surface roughness gauge.
  • Manage material movements and prepare the cell for the next job.
  • Check and change tips as required, and monitor dimensions in process.
  • Load and unload parts, perform basic machine and coolant checks, and complete cell production documentation and bookings.
  • Set the job and machine parts, adjust offsets and tooling as needed, and take first-off measurements.
Requirements
  • Machining experience working under +/- 0.05mm tolerances.
  • CNC Milling/Turning experience.
  • Understanding of Fanuc CNC controls.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Desirable qualifications include apprentice-trained mechanical manufacturing or equivalent, reading and understanding drawings, experience with machining forgings, manual milling/turning experience, overhead crane training, abrasive wheel training, forklift license, and overhead crane/lifting certification.
