About the Job

This 6-month contract position involves providing a full range of benefits advice to Care Experienced Young People (CEYP) tenants. The ideal candidate will have experience in representing service users at Appeal Tribunals and possess a high level of competence in preparing cases for reviews and tribunals.

  • Provide expert welfare benefits casework services, including all available welfare benefits and tax credits.
  • Deliver training and support to social care professionals, council staff, and health/voluntary sector stakeholders.
  • Liaise with statutory authorities to ensure benefit decisions are accurate and challenge incorrect decisions when necessary.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A strong background in welfare rights casework, particularly in Housing Benefit/Council Tax Benefit rules.
  • Excellent knowledge of Universal Credit claims and eligibility.
  • High-level competence in preparing cases for reviews and tribunals, as well as representing clients.
  • Recent experience in providing benefit advice and support in a busy advice setting.
  • Recent experience in representing service users at Appeal Tribunals.
What We Offer

This opportunity comes with a competitive salary of £20.92 per hour (PAYE) or £28.43 per hour (Umbrella). As a Comprehensive Benefits Specialist with Adecco UK Limited, you will work 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday (09:00 AM - 05:00 PM), with a hybrid working arrangement that includes office-based work in Bernard Weatherill House, Croydon, for 2-3 days a week.
