Design Manager Job Description

Reddbrick are currently recruiting for a Design Manager to work with our Client in the East Midlands Region. Our Client is a UK building, infrastructure, engineering and fit out company with experience working across a range of sectors including Commercial, Residential, Healthcare and Education.

Design Manager Role

The Design Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design of construction (non-civil) projects from tender stage right through to the completion of the construction stage design information and production of the operating and maintenance manuals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate the design of construction projects
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure design information is accurate and complete
  • Develop and implement design solutions that meet client requirements
  • Ensure compliance with current CDM and Building Regulations
  • Communicate effectively with clients and project teams
  • Lead and manage project teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
Requirements
  • Experience of undertaking design management activities at both tender and construction stages
  • Experience of Education Projects
  • Experience of framework schemes as well as open market tenders via a combination of single stage, two stage and negotiated contracts
  • Good technical knowledge of architectural, structural, civil and building services design solutions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project teams
  • Leadership and management skills
