About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Resident Support Assistant to join our team at Garden House. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic care and support to residents, identifying their individual needs and preferences.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with health and safety regulations and St Monica Trust's policies.
  • Ensure room checks, communal room comfort, cleanliness, and laundry sorting are completed to a high standard.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the care home teams to meet residents' unique needs.
  • Prepare lounge areas for use as a coffee and bar venue for residents and their visitors.
Skills and Experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to write notes and messages.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate with people with differing communication needs.
  • Ability to adapt style and approach to suit the situation or task.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate information and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, building relationships of trust with colleagues, residents, and their families.
Requirements
  • Confident use of IT and standard office programs, including word processing and email.
  • Understanding of basic food preparation and cleaning techniques.
  • Knowledge of basic health and safety rules and customer service principles.
  • Desirable qualifications include Level 1 or 2 in Food Hygiene and Level 2 in Healthcare Cleaning.
