Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse in Acute Care

We are recruiting for a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Emergency Decision Unit team at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. As a highly skilled and experienced nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in our fast-paced acute environment.

Role Overview

In this position, you will work closely with the Department Manager to ensure maximum utilization of staff resources and provide support in allocating student learners to mentors and assessors. You will also be responsible for coordinating, prioritizing, facilitating, and monitoring the delivery of care to own patients and other patients when in charge. Your experience in a similar role will enable you to supervise the performance standards of your team members and contribute to setting and maintaining high standards of quality nursing care.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
  1. Ensure efficient allocation and utilization of staff resources.
  2. Provide support in allocating student learners to mentors and assessors.
  3. Coordinate and prioritize the delivery of care to patients.
  4. Supervise team members' performance standards.
Essential Requirements
  • Registered RN with NMC registration.
  • Evidence of post-registration educational continuing development.

Estimated salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum.
