About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Estimator to join our UK Infrastructure business, working within our specialist Cost & Supply Chain Assurance team. As a Senior Consultant, you will play a key role in reviewing and scrutinizing actual incurred costs, driving supply chain improvement and efficiency for major programmes and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with a diverse team to lead and aid junior members in their development and growth
  • Contribute to the development of the service line by inputting into bids and business generation
  • Take a lead in refining internal training and product management in relation to the service line
Job Objectives
  • Review construction contractor systems, controls, and processes to provide a view on their ways of working, using industry intelligence to build a view on best practice
  • Analyze and understand complex construction contracts, including NEC3/4 and ICE Bespoke
  • Perform data testing and analysis using smart techniques and tools, such as data visualization and trend/pattern analysis
  • Foster good quality working relationships with clients and those being reviewed, built around trust and professionalism
  • Engage with the supply chain to encourage collaboration at project/programme level
Requirements
  • Previous experience or a sound understanding of assurance or audit in a construction, commercial, or accountancy setting
  • Construction industry technical matters, including different procurement routes, disallowed cost areas, target price setting, and calculation of pain/gain amounts
  • Contract Management experience, preferably with NEC3/4 (Option C, E)
  • Assessment of accuracy and entitlement to cost
  • Change management and forecast control
  • Data analysis skills, with the ability to review and draw insights from large quantities of data in various formats
  • Report writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex messages succinctly
  • People and organisational management experience, with the ability to work in a team environment and handle a variable workload
  • Presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage with stakeholders
  • Professional scepticism, with the ability to challenge in a professional and constructive way
