Job Summary


This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Health Care Professional to join our leadership team as Head of Nursing, Therapies and Quality at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust.


Main Duties


As Head of Nursing, Therapies and Quality, you will provide clinical leadership within the directorate and wider trust as required, including directorate support for patient safety, clinical risk, clinical effectiveness, audit, incidents, and serious incidents.


You will work in partnership with the Service and Clinical Directors and their teams to drive the delivery of high quality care and reducing unwarranted variation. This includes the development of clinical pathways and service transformation underpinned by evidence and informed by best practice.


The post holder will also play a lead role in developing a culture which encourages innovation, learning, and research at all levels, supporting and delivering the Trust's objectives.

Person Specification


The following are the essential criteria for this role:



  • Registered Nurse/AHP
  • Relevant full Masters degree or working towards or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of recent evidence-based professional development in an up-to-date portfolio
  • Exceptional proven leadership skills
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and professional accountability

The following are the desirable criteria for this role:



  • Working towards PhD or showing active engagement in research

Job Requirements


Please note that this role will be offered on a secondment basis only for those with current NHS service. Please obtain permission to be released on a secondment before submitting an application.
