About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join our team at a good-rated school in the Amersham area. The school prides itself on providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for children, allowing them to succeed to the best of their ability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach individuals or small groups of pupils within or outside the class
  • Prepare lessons and resources
  • Mark and assess work
  • Develop and adapt conventional teaching methods to meet the individual needs of pupils
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with SEN children
  • Good knowledge of SEN and passion to develop
  • Able to commit to working fixed days - full or part time
  • NVQ in Childcare and Education or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • May have had previous experience in residential support work, care or support working in schools
  • Team Teach, TEACCH or positive handling training
  • Experience of developing independence in young people
  • Experience of supporting social and emotional development
  • Clear and valid DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
