Job Title: Laboratory Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Eurofins UK Clinical Diagnostics. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our laboratory operations and ensuring the smooth flow of work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receiving, unpacking, and sorting patient samples
  • Disposing of general and clinical waste, including sharps, and maintaining a clean and tidy work environment
  • Receiving and receipting stock when needed
  • Monitoring stock levels of reagents and consumables and communicating with the team when levels are low
  • Maintaining the stores area to an acceptable standard
  • Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and our Quality Management system (QMS)
  • Reporting any non-conformances or near misses using our local and company QMS and health and safety systems
  • Taking responsibility for the Health and Safety of yourself and your colleagues
  • Communicating effectively with team members to ensure a smooth flow of work through the laboratory process
Requirements:
  • Good general education and numeracy skills
  • Scientific knowledge and understanding
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and good keyboard skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Data entry skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedure
  • General computer skills using the internet
