Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance Team in North Ayrshire Council's Health and Social Care Partnership. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading an area of finance, ensuring the smooth delivery of services including budget monitoring, annual accounts preparation, budget setting, and government returns submission.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, working closely with colleagues to drive financial performance and achieve organisational objectives. You will also be involved in various projects, contributing your expertise to improve processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with senior management and other stakeholders to understand financial requirements and priorities;
  • Leading the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance;
  • Providing guidance and support to junior staff members to help them develop their skills and confidence;
  • Collaborating with colleagues to identify areas for improvement and implement process changes where necessary.

What We Offer

In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a competitive salary package, including an estimated £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also benefit from a range of employee benefits, including a contributory pension scheme, annual leave entitlement, and opportunities for professional development and career progression.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A relevant accounting qualification, such as ACA or ACCA;
  • Proven experience in financial leadership and management;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.
