Lead CPM / Console & Interior Trim Design Engineer

Jonathan Lee Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Lead CPM / Console & Interior Trim Design Engineer to join a leading automotive design and development hub in Cranfield. This is a prestigious opportunity to elevate your career in automotive design, offering a competitive rate of £29.00/hr PAYE and the chance to shape the future of European vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of the Cockpit Module, focusing on Quality, Cost, and Delivery, ensuring all KPIs are met.
  • Manage project layouts, concept sheets, and technical files preparation towards production release.
  • Oversee cost versus budget, ensuring specifications and performance criteria are met at each milestone.
  • Facilitate effective communication and report on costs, supplier timing plans, and cross-functional team collaboration.
  • Engage directly with suppliers on technical and commercial aspects, including RFQ creation and quote analysis.
  • Contribute to new model and lifecycle design engineering development, displaying a deep understanding of manufacturing processes.
Requirements:
  • A strong background in automotive design engineering, with experience in Cockpit Module development.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Proficient in design engineering software, including CAD and CAE tools.
