Senior Commercial Manager

This exciting opportunity is part of BAE Systems' AUKUS Programme, a transformative project focused on establishing a sovereign nuclear shipbuilding capability in Australia. The role of Senior Commercial Manager plays a crucial part in translating political agreements into actionable strategies and solutions, working closely with national governments and industry partners.
As a key member of the commercial team, you will be responsible for negotiating and managing complex contracts with international partners, developing collaborative relationships with shipbuilding partners, customers, and supply chain members, and overseeing the commercial aspects of securing and implementing IT platforms for the transfer of classified materials.
In this role, you will also provide strategic commercial guidance to ensure the alignment of programme goals with political and industry requirements, support the development of shipbuilding programme infrastructure and supply chain readiness, and facilitate commercial activities both domestically and internationally, ensuring compliance with programme requirements and delivering commercial solutions.
Your Skills and ExperienceTo succeed in this role, you will need to have a proven track record in negotiating and managing complex contracts within large-scale, international programmes, strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, and the ability to build partnerships in multi-national environments.
You will also need to have financial awareness, capable of managing budgets, pricing strategies, and ensuring commercial viability, experience in complex licencing and handling intellectual property rights (IPR) within commercial agreements, and the ability to manage risk and provide strategic commercial solutions that align with political and operational objectives.
Additionally, you will be expected to develop, coach, and manage the commercial team, including collaboration with the cost estimating sector of the function.
