We are currently working with a Midlands Local Council who are recruiting for a skilled and experienced Estates Surveyor to assist in the Valuation and Estates Management Service to the Council.

Key Responsibilities

  • To inspect, survey, value, negotiate, report upon and conclude cases allocated to the postholder embracing acquisitions, disposals, negotiation and processing of leases, licences, assessment of premiums and service charges.
  • To assist in providing strategic advice to other Departments and Members of the Council in respect of the Corporate Estate.
  • To deal with enquiries from the general public and advise upon matters concerning appropriate property related issues.
  • To prepare evidence for arbitration, independent expert referrals, Valuation Tribunals, Lands Tribunals or Court as directed.

Requirements

  • Have either passed the final RICS (General Practice Surveying) examination, or have an equivalent degree or diploma giving full exemption from the final professional examination of the RICS.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of current legislation and valuation technique affecting acquisitions, disposals, landlord and tenant, non-domestic rating and buildings insurance matters.

This role requires a professional with a strong understanding of property valuation and management principles, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
