Senior Microbiology Laboratory Manager

As part of our ongoing growth, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Microbiology Laboratory Manager to join our team.
As the Microbiology Manager, you will lead and manage our team of Biomedical Scientists and Medical Laboratory Assistants in the Microbiology Department, ensuring the highest standards of diagnostic services and infection control are maintained. You will play a critical role in supporting patient care, working closely with clinicians, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals to deliver efficient and effective microbiology services.
Main Responsibilities:- Department Leadership: Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Microbiology Department, including staff management and training.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with UKAS accreditation standards and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Sample Processing: Oversee the processing and analysis of clinical samples to provide accurate and timely diagnostic results.
- Department Management: Manage department budgets, procurement, and inventory control.
- Professional Qualifications: HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist or equivalent.
- Education: A degree in Microbiology or a related field (MSc or equivalent).
- Experience: Significant experience in a microbiology laboratory, with a managerial or leadership role.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of clinical microbiology and laboratory accreditation standards.
