About the Role

Lavazza Professional UK is a leading provider of high-performance vending technologies to offices and factory floors across the UK. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and support of our electrical and electronic systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and verify new electrical and electronic sub-assemblies, parts, and components, including supporting and affected parts.
  • Create and maintain design and manufacturing specifications for new and existing electrical and electronic products.
  • Manage internal electrical and electronic developments from concept to introduction, ensuring that the development follows the appropriate process, meets the required specifications, and is delivered within agreed cost and time constraints.
Requirements
  • Honours Degree in Electronics.
  • Ideal candidate will be a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Engineering Council.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Sound grounding in electronics theory, including analogue, power, and digital.
  • Understanding of electrical design theory and practice, up to 230V.
  • Understanding of mechatronics as used in vending machines.
  • In-depth knowledge of the application of theory to real-world solutions.
  • Good practical build skills, including soldering, for production of prototype and test rigs.
  • Electronics CAD skills, including Altium, for schematic and PCB layout.
  • Electronic circuit simulation, design analysis, and mathematical modelling tools.
  • Competence in the use of lab test equipment.
  • Knowledge of legal standards and their application.
  • Understanding of electronic assembly manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding and implementing key business processes for equipment development.
  • Creating detailed project and design documents.
  • Design for manufacture.
  • Able to design wiring looms and harnesses.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Creating and storing design and project output documentation, including 'due diligence', necessary for future maintenance and support of electrical and electronic products.
  • Creating, maintaining, and storing specifications necessary for the outsourcing of system design to external partners and for interfacing to internal design resources.
  • Technical authority to electrical and electronic assembly suppliers for component change to protect manufacturing supply chain.
  • Providing technical support to resolve quality and supply issues originating with electrical and electronic parts and, if necessary, updating design and manufacturing specifications.
  • Collaborating with other departments and project members to achieve the delivery of equipment projects.
