Security Architect Role

We have a great opportunity for a Security Architect to join our R&D team. The Security Architect will be responsible for setting the technical direction and standard of all aspects of product design pertaining to security of our products and customer implementations.

This includes ensuring all products follow secure-by-design principles, as well as technical development ownership of multiple Cyber Security initiatives, including our Intrusion Detection Solution portfolio and its ongoing enhancement.

Nomad is constantly innovating new products, offering a lot of opportunities for hands-on prototyping of new security, authentication, and identity management solutions.

Responsibilities
  1. Security review and assessment of new and existing products and services
  2. Assessing security requirements of individual customer projects
  3. Input to the secure architecture design
  4. Responsible for the continued evolution of the Secure-by-Design development approach and documentation of the company policy
  5. Implementation and maintenance of security features on existing and new, products and platforms
  6. Security guidance documentation
  7. Participation / advising in selection of future security products
  8. Threat modelling
  9. Penetration testing & vulnerability research [internal]
  10. Security training and outreach to internal teams
  11. Security, authentication and identity management tool development
Requirements
  • Degree in computer science or engineering
  • Working knowledge of security design principles such as OWASP
  • An understanding of security standards such as EN62443
  • Experience specifying and implementation of security solutions including IDS and SIEM
  • An understanding of network and web related protocols (such as, TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols)
  • An understanding of web services, mobile applications, cryptography, and penetration testing
  • Experience working with Linux based systems
  • An understanding of software coding principles. Some software coding experience would be beneficial
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable teamwork skills and resourcefulness
  • Experience of vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus would be advantageous
