Austin Rose Associates Limited is seeking a skilled tax professional to join our team as a Business Tax Consultant. As a Business Tax Consultant, you will work closely with our experienced engineers and scientists to deliver bespoke solutions to clients from various industries.

Our client has specific expertise in the identification of qualifying R&D, optimization of R&D tax credits, Patent Box, and acquisition of R&D grants. The successful candidate will have a background in UK corporation tax, experience dealing with R&D Tax Relief or HMRC, and a tax qualification (highly desirable) - ATT, CTA.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Act as the primary point of contact with clients to understand their business needs and provide tailored solutions.
  2. Investigate and identify qualifying R&D projects, drafting technical reports in plain English to facilitate client understanding.
  3. Participate in technical discussions with clients and colleagues to optimize claims through interviewing key business decision-makers and technical leads.
  4. Prepare or review R&D Tax Relief calculations, with support from technical colleagues, and file the same with HMRC.
  5. Provide support to R&D Tax Relief claims in the event of HMRC audits/enquiries.
Requirements:
  1. A strong background in UK corporation tax.
  2. Experience of dealing with R&D Tax Relief or HMRC.
  3. A tax qualification (highly desirable) - ATT, CTA.
  4. A strong interest in scientific or technological developments.
