Role Overview

The Geology Project Manager Lead will be responsible for leading project delivery, mentoring our talented team, and driving growth in the South West. This role requires a Chartered Geologist/Engineer with a track record of delivering technical excellence, proven project management skills, and experience in business development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of projects (typically ≤£100k), delivering on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Author and review accurate, technically robust reports, designs, and risk assessments.
  • Lead client and stakeholder meetings, offering expert advice and solutions.
  • Scope, price, and win projects by crafting compelling bids and proposals.
  • Line manage and mentor a team of engineers, fostering their growth and ensuring excellent performance.
  • Drive business development by expanding client accounts and identifying new opportunities.
  • Promote health, safety, and quality across all aspects of work.
  • Represent CGL externally through publications, CPD events, and on social media.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Chartered Geologist/Engineer status.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Experience in business development.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
