Safeguarding Officer Role

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safeguarding Officer to join our dedicated team at Consett Academy. As a key member of our safeguarding team, you will play a vital role in implementing safeguarding and child protection policies, providing essential advice to colleagues, and supporting students through sensitive matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key point of contact for safeguarding queries and provide advice to colleagues.
  • Support students through sensitive matters, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Monitor safeguarding incidents, prepare reports, and ensure student welfare throughout the day.
  • Collaborate with primary schools to ensure a smooth transition for new Year 7 students and provide pastoral support as needed.

Requirements:

  • Sustained experience working with young people in an education setting.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding procedures.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A Level 3 qualification in a relevant area.
  • Familiarity with systems such as CPOMS or similar.
