Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated midwife to join our team as a Practice Development Midwife. The successful candidate will work within the Pastoral Team, supporting midwives of all bands to develop and provide high-quality care.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced midwife with a passion for leadership and development. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to be objective when assessing staff.

Main Duties

The Practice Development Midwife will be responsible for actively engaging in the development, implementation, and evaluation of midwifery practice. This will involve working clinically with midwives in all areas to ensure they are assessed in the breadth of clinical competencies required to deliver compassionate midwifery practice.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for supporting newly qualified, existing, and internationally educated midwives to demonstrate the necessary clinical competencies, ensuring their practice is evidence-based and safe.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • Currently NMC Registered Midwife
  • Registered Midwife with at least 3 years' experience who has worked in all areas
  • Evidence of professional development
  • Teaching qualification
  • Assessor/mentorship course or equivalent

Desirable Criteria

  • Professional Midwifery Advocate
  • Masters degree
  • PROMPT Trainer
  • NLS Trained

Skills
