About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Underwriter to join our New Business team as a Senior Commercial Underwriter. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and assessing complex risks across various business classes, including Motor Trade, Farm, Estates, and Commercial Select products. You will also provide technical support to stakeholders and train, coach, and mentor team members.

As a Senior Commercial Underwriter, you will work collaboratively with our Agents to resolve complex referrals and ensure effective management of insurance risk costs. You will also be responsible for delivering short-term and one-off projects and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assess complex risks across various business classes
  • Provide technical support to stakeholders
  • Train, coach, and mentor team members
  • Work collaboratively with Agents to resolve complex referrals
  • Deliver short-term and one-off projects and activities
About You

You will be a Commercial Underwriting professional with extensive new business underwriting experience across various business classes. You will have a resilient and confident approach, with effective communication skills to establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Property & Liability Commercial Underwriting experience within the mid-market space
  • Experience of coaching, mentoring, and training colleagues
  • Confident communicator with experience of leading and influencing risk decisions
  • Ability to make rational and logical decisions in a fast-paced environment
