About the Role

The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the daily inspection and maintenance of all production machinery, including rectifying mechanical faults and breakdowns. This role will work closely with a small team of Engineers to maintain equipment and minimize machine downtime, ensuring maximum productivity.

Main Responsibilities
  • Operate safely and maintain machinery in line with health, safety, environmental, and hygiene standards.
  • Monitor records of faults, fabrication of parts, and safety devices.
  • Support the installation of new machinery and work with external contractors as required.
  • Ensure machines operate to expected safety standards and test/inspect equipment to eliminate production problems.
  • Carry out routine maintenance checks and conduct machine maintenance to the highest standard.
  • Respond to machine breakdowns, undertake fault finding, and apply fixes where possible.
  • Work with colleagues across Production and other areas to ensure all print machines and equipment are running to targeted output.
  • Maintain engineering documentation, including maintenance records, operating procedures, and work instructions.
  • Assist with the upkeep of the engineering workshop and liaise with Purchasing to order machine parts from suppliers.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant machine technology and engineering best practices.
