Electrical Design Engineer - The Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Automation Experts Ltd. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing control and instrumentation systems for automated test equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in engineering projects, interacting with customers and internal departments as required
  • Test, diagnose, and rectify faults to validate products
  • Ensure designs meet legislative requirements
  • Create system specifications and test documentation to a high standard

Electrical Design Engineer - The Person

We are looking for an individual with a minimum of 2 years' experience in Electrical CAD (AutoCAD Electrical, EPlan, SolidWorks Electrical) and practical experience of designing and developing control and instrumentation systems.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g. ProfiNET, EtherNetIP, EtherCAT)
  • Industrial wiring and switchgear design and selection techniques
  • Industrial sensors (e.g. encoders, transducers)
  • Control loop design (e.g. PID)
  • ATEX and EMC standards and design
  • Electrical legislation and compliance techniques (UKCA, CE, UL, CSA)
