Job Title: Assistant Gardener

Blue Arrow Customer Success Hub is currently recruiting an Assistant Gardener to join our team based in Brighton. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out horticultural work to a high standard, working Monday to Friday, and starting at 7:30 am. The hourly rate for this position is £13.02.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out basic routine horticultural operations, including grass cutting and mechanical weed control.
  • Assist in more advanced horticultural operations, such as pruning and planting bedding.
  • Be aware of and adhere to all relevant risk assessments.
  • Cleanse duties, including litter clearance and cleaning changing rooms.
  • Erect sports equipment and assist with marking out sports pitches.
  • Check allocated tools, equipment, and machinery before use to ensure they are in good and safe working order, reporting any defects.
  • Undertake basic maintenance on grass cutting machinery.
  • Assist in site preparation and construction of soft and hard landscaping projects.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of basic horticultural tasks, including mowing experience.
  • Understanding of basic health and safety and manual handling.
  • Full Driving Licence is essential.
  • Ability to carry out basic tasks without supervision.
  • Ability to deal with the public in a polite and constructive manner.
  • Capability to work as part of a team.
  • Happy to work in all weathers.
