Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant to join our team, working across schools in Essex. This dual role involves supporting students in both physical education and classroom activities, making it an ideal opportunity for individuals passionate about promoting physical fitness and learning.

As a Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant, you will help students develop key skills, both academically and athletically, while fostering a positive and inclusive school environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in delivering sports and physical education lessons to students of varying ages and abilities.
  • Supporting teachers in classroom settings, providing assistance with academic lessons and activities.
  • Encouraging student engagement in sports, promoting health, fitness, and teamwork.
  • Helping to manage behavior and maintain a positive learning environment both in the classroom and on the sports field.
  • Assisting in the preparation of lesson plans, resources, and equipment for PE lessons.
  • Working closely with other staff to identify and support students with individual needs.
  • Providing one-on-one or small group support as needed to boost students' academic and physical progress.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in sports coaching or physical education (relevant qualifications are desirable).
  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
  • A passion for both physical education and academic development.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, supporting teachers and engaging with students.
  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Flexibility to work across different schools in Essex.
