Logistics Coordinator Role

Ben Sherman is a renowned British heritage brand with a rich history spanning over 6 decades. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting the Supply Chain Coordinator in managing the delivery schedule, ensuring seamless logistics operations, and maintaining excellent relationships with freight forwarders, suppliers, and Head Office departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Tracking:

  • Monitor and manage freight forwarder interactions to ensure priorities are met.
  • Maintain accurate delivery schedules, ensuring Head Office deadlines and delivery dates are met.
  • Ensure AX is up-to-date with 3rd party logistics tracking system information.
  • Identify potential risks and delays through weekly Supply Chain Reports.

Shipment Bookings:

  • Coordinate smooth stock movements from the Far East and Europe to the UK warehouse.
  • Chase suppliers for bookings and address booking queries with freight forwarders.
  • Liaise with Technical, Merchandising & Product teams for timely shipment approvals.
  • Verify delivery paperwork and ensure suppliers provide bills of lading on time to avoid demurrage charges.

Delivery:

  • Liaise with 3rd party Warehouse Manager to plan weekly intake, manage changes, and work through peaks.
  • Maintain crew schedules to ensure key dates are not missed, and flag potential late delivery/payment issues.
  • Research and document slipped deliveries, informing Head Office departments.
  • Check delivery paperwork, investigate discrepancies, and report findings.

General:

  • Collaborate with the team to ensure excellent logistical performance.
  • Support Logistics team during holidays and cover responsibilities as needed.
  • Contribute to updating procedures within the team and suppliers.
  • Assist with loading and unloading vehicles from the Head Office warehouse when necessary.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
  • Dedicated and responsible approach to the job role.
  • Ability to work independently and within a small team.
  • Previous experience in a similar administrative role.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • Experience within import/logistics.
  • Strong understanding of the retail environment.
  • Knowledge of freight forwarding principles and critical path.
