Job Overview
Serco is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join their team at Great Western Hospital. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of mechanical services and equipment within the hospital, as directed by Estates Supervisors and Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out reactive repairs, fault finding, servicing, commissioning, and maintenance to a wide range of Services, Plant, and Equipment.

About the Role
This is a shift-based position, with Monday-Sunday shifts covering on-site operational hours of 7:00-19:00. The role also includes being part of an on-call rota from 19:00-07:00. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in engineering with transferable skills, such as repairing motors and bearing replacements. A Level 3 Certificate/Diploma/NVQ in a mechanical discipline is also required.

Key Responsibilities
* Carry out reactive repairs, fault finding, servicing, commissioning, and maintenance to a wide range of Services, Plant, and Equipment.
* Provide detailed impact assessments and risks for significant shutdowns and operations to the Management Team.
* Plan and schedule major interruptions, maintenance activities, and coordinate work of contractors.
* Analyze and diagnose faults in complex, multi-faceted equipment.
* Carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance to a wide range of Plant and Equipment.

What You'll Need
* Previous experience in engineering with transferable skills.
* Level 3 Certificate/Diploma/NVQ in a mechanical discipline.
* BOAS Trained.
* L8/HSG274 Training.
* HTM 02 Medical Gas Training.
* HTM 03 Ventilation Training.
* HTM 04 Water hygiene Training.
* Proven experience of working in a similar environment.
* Knowledge and understanding of Mechanical Building Services.
