Maintenance Electrician Job Description

As a Maintenance Electrician at National Nuclear Laboratory, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance on a wide range of Electrical and Instrumentation plant systems. This will involve carrying out project work, breakdown repairs, and safe isolations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance on Electrical and Instrumentation plant systems
  • Carry out project work, breakdown repairs, and safe isolations
  • Work with single-line electrical drawings, instructions, and manuals
  • Develop and implement maintenance programmes and company standards/industry best practice
Requirements:
  • Time served Electrician or Instrument Mechanic holding recognised apprenticeship (e.g. NVQ level 3 Electrical Instrumentation or equivalent)
  • Proficient in English and Maths
  • Developed Vetting cleared (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial, criminal record checks, interview plus 10 years of UK residency)
  • Self-motivated, driven, and resilient
  • Able to make correct and informed decisions under pressure
Desirable Criteria:
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Operation & Maintenance requirements associated with their area
  • Knowledge of maintenance programmes and company standards/industry best practice
  • IOSHH Working Safely
