Overview of the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team at CE Back Office, working in a fast-paced payroll bureau and consultancy environment.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in payroll administration or be an experienced payroll specialist looking to step up into a senior role. This position involves managing multiple client payrolls end-to-end, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll data.

This is a full-time position, although part-time hours would be considered. The successful candidate will work from our Nantwich office on a Tuesday and Thursday each week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To manage the payroll inbox and respond to queries from HR, Managers, Employees, and Third-Party Suppliers.
  • Prepare payroll imports and changes on time and upload them to the payroll system.
  • Review payroll data, including manual checks, NMW compliance, and prepare sign-off reports.
  • Prepare and upload third-party reports.
  • Ensure payroll compliance.
  • Complete annual payroll tasks, including year-end processing, P11D submissions, and PSA reporting.
  • Generate reports as required.
  • Recognise opportunities to support clients' staff or business where appropriate.
Requirements

We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual who possesses:

  • Strong mathematics skills and the ability to carry out manual payroll calculations.
  • Ability to run manual payroll calculations, including tax, NIC, student loans, and pension deductions.
  • Experience in processing payroll from end-to-end, including year-end procedures.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including use of formulas, v-look-ups, and pivot tables.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ideal candidates hold a relevant payroll qualification.
  • Experience with IRIS Payroll Professional is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
