The Role
The Pirbright Institute is seeking a highly motivated and resourceful individual to join its Research and Innovation Department as a Knowledge Exchange Officer. The successful candidate will play an active role in supporting knowledge exchange and impact activities, including research collaborations, intellectual property management, and commercialisation.
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Drafting and negotiating research contracts with commercial partners, universities, and public sector organisations.
- Ensuring research contracts comply with applicable legislation.
- Working closely with research and operational departments to ensure contracts reflect the Institute's needs, obligations, and restrictions.
- Supporting the management of the Institute's knowledge exchange and impact activities.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a life sciences subject or equivalent experience. They will also have public sector or commercial life sciences experience, as well as highly developed negotiation and conciliation skills. Experience with research contract drafting or negotiations, and intellectual property management or commercialisation would be desirable.
