Housing Law Solicitor / Supervisor

About the Role:

Gemini Recruitment is partnering with a leading law firm to recruit an experienced Housing Law Solicitor / Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the firm's Housing team and providing technical expertise and guidance to other team members.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to Department Director
  • Responsible for all aspects of Housing work
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to other team members
  • Manage a caseload of public and private housing cases
  • Assist with casework, including dealing with homelessness, disrepair, eviction, possession, and property ownership disputes
  • Attend clients, take instructions, and prepare cases
  • Deal with correspondence and maintain accurate time costing procedures
  • Implement recommendations made by the supervisor following monthly file reviews
  • Ensure compliance with file management

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Valid Practising Certificate
  • Proven supervisory experience and working to key performance indicators
  • Excellent client care skills and ability to deal with vulnerable clients
  • Excellent networking and communication skills
  • Ability to use own initiative and sound judgment
  • Working knowledge of publicly funded Housing work and ability to service privately funded cases
  • Extensive experience in dealing with Housing related work
