About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Support Worker - Complex Care. You will work with individuals who have complex needs and/or mental health issues, providing innovative and person-centered solutions to improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist individuals with complex needs/mental health issues in their home, in accordance with Care Plans and assess their skills and needs.
  • Offer positive behavior support to individuals who express their frustrations and needs through challenging behavior by using appropriate strategies.
  • Provide practical support for individuals, such as helping with household tasks, including cooking, cleaning, laundry, personal care, and paperwork.
  • Provide emotional support to individuals by talking to them and listening to their problems and concerns.
  • Understand their communication needs and adapt communication to each individual, e.g., sounds, tones, body language.
  • Offer unconditional positive regard to individuals, respect their right to privacy, and ensure their dignity is maintained at all times.
  • Assist the Clinical Team in their clinical duties with the individual.
  • Become a role model and companion to the individual, uncovering shared interests, such as hobbies and outings.
  • Other elements of support that are linked with neurodiversity.
