Job Title: Bridge Inspector
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Bridge Inspector to join our team at Ringway Jacobs. As a Bridge Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and integrity of our highway structures. Your expertise will be instrumental in conducting thorough inspections, identifying defects, and reporting on the condition of our bridges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct General and Principal Inspections of highway structures
- Accurately identify and report defects
- Immediate reporting of safety defects
- Represent the company in public and provide feedback to the public on demand
- Produce well-presented and accurate reports and sketches
- Manage a challenging workload subject to change at short notice
- Input defect information and photographs into the BridgeStation database
- Prepare Defect Sketches and Photo Location Plans
Requirements:
- County-wide travel required; full driving license essential
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent experience
- Good understanding of structural behavior and detailed knowledge of inspection codes and standards
- Demonstrable ability in assessing risk in relation to highway structures and proposing mitigation measures when safety defects are identified
- Experience of liaising with the public
- Good IT skills - familiar with MS Office Word and Excel
- Ability to work in water and at height
