The Role:
This is a hybrid role, requiring candidates to live within commuting distance of Newport. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day IT operations, ensuring the stability, performance, and security of the AWS-based infrastructure. Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading deployment processes, system monitoring, and troubleshooting to maintain exceptional uptime and reliability.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies for scalability and efficiency.
  • Managing and mentoring a team of skilled engineers, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Driving automation and process improvements to enhance system performance and reduce manual intervention.
  • Ensuring compliance with security standards and best practices.
To excel in this role, you'll need:
  • Proven experience in Operations Management within a cloud-first environment.
  • A good knowledge of AWS, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation, and networking.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices, automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with a collaborative approach.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum depending on experience.
