Mechanical Design Engineer Opportunity
£36 – £38ph FCSA Umbrella (This role is deemed inside IR35)
Some Hybrid Working Available (min 3 days pw onsite in Shrewsbury)
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Draughter with experience of Engine, Transmission or Mechanisms design work for a months contract based in Shrewsbury.

This role is mainly onsite working, but some working from home available (min 2-3 days pw).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Creation of CAD models and designs of components and assemblies.
  2. Preparation of component and group drawings.
  3. Collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
  4. Engagement with other engineers and technical resources to address detailed technical problems.
  5. Virtual collaboration with a global team.
  6. Working with design resources and suppliers to rapidly implement design changes.
Candidate Requirements:
  1. Working knowledge of solid modelling (ideally CREO and Teamcenter – Although most 3D Packages will be considered & time given to come up to speed)
  2. Engine, Transmission or complex dynamic mechanisms / rotating equipment experience
  3. Understanding of design for manufacturing / design for assembly philosophies
  4. Engineering degree or HND with experience.
  5. Ability to work as part of a team collaborating with colleagues in different geographies.
  6. Must be on site min 2-3 days a week, but some work from home is available.
Note: This role is inside IR35, and the umbrella pay rate is between £36/hr to £38/hr depending upon experience and qualifications.
