Grounds Maintenance Specialist

The Football Association is seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Specialist to join their team at St. George's Park. As a key member of the Grounds Team, you will be responsible for maintaining all pitches across the site on a daily basis.
Key duties will include:
- Mowing with both pedestrian and ride-on machines
- White lining, fertilizing, spraying, and aeration work
- General tractor work and other tasks as instructed
Maintenance of pitches includes preparation and repair for all pitch usage and general maintenance in between.
As a Grounds Maintenance Specialist, you will be working closely with the Pitch Care Team to ensure that all pitches are maintained to the highest standards. This will involve:
- Maintaining and preparing pitches to relevant universal playing standards for all codes of sport hosted by SGP
- Maintaining training pitches to professional standard in accordance with Sports Turf Industry guidelines
- Maintaining surfaces to agreed standards by adhering to pre-defined maintenance programs developed in conjunction with appointed industry consultants
Additionally, you will be responsible for assisting in maintaining all pitch equipment in line with manufacturer standards to ensure optimum operation at all times.
Working collaboratively with the team, you will be expected to execute additional tasks as required to meet FA Group changing priorities.
Key skills and qualifications for this role include:
- Good knowledge of machinery use
- General knowledge of fertilizers
- General knowledge of health and safety procedures
- Comfortable working in a team
- Good communication skills
Previous experience of working on professional grass sports surfaces is essential for this role.
