Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Needham Market and the Suffolk region. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day cost control and monitoring, ensuring value for money and financial assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ability to understand and contribute to the development of technical drawings and specifications
  2. Controlling all expenditure
  3. Reconciling cost/value reports and profit forecasts
  4. Ensuring value for money and financial assessments
  5. Managing day-to-day cost control and monitoring and reporting
Desirable Experience:
  1. Possess a strong commercial acumen and a wealth of experience within the residential new build and social housing sector
  2. Knowledge of reactive and planned maintenance
  3. Comprehensive understanding of subcontractor procurement and cost management
  4. Strong experience with Schedule of Rates, subcontractor management, valuations, etc.
  5. Thorough understanding of building regulations and Health & Safety legislation
Qualifications & Skills:
  1. Minimum of 5 years' Quantity Surveying experience
  2. BSc Degree in Quantity Surveying would be an advantage
  3. Previous experience of pricing planned work and/or repairs and maintenance
  4. Proven commercial professional with experience in social housing reactive maintenance and repairs
  5. Experience of SOR codes
  6. Understanding of the CVR process
  7. Excellent communication and client relationship skills
  8. Knowledge of supply chain management and contractual awareness
  9. Negotiating, communication and presentation skills
  10. Attention to detail and accuracy is a must
  11. There will be an element of travel required, so you must have a full valid UK driving licence
