Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Strategy Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing engineering and maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures to achieve measured station performance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement engineering and maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures to achieve measured station performance.
  2. Carry out the assessment of critical plant and use reliability centred maintenance techniques to review and optimise all planned and preventive maintenance activities on the plant area of responsibility.
  3. Contribute to continuous improvement plans, conducting root cause analysis where required.
  4. Develop medium- and long-term improvement and investment strategies, including plant outage strategy, projecting major parts replacements.
  5. Manage the site's Asset Risk database to reflect significant changes.
  6. Mentor other strategy engineers within the team and provide technical support to the mechanical delivery team, who carry out day-to-day maintenance tasks on site.
  7. Design and deliver technically complex projects, with delegated management of outage and project work, ensuring it is completed within budget and quality standards.
  8. Be the lead reviewer for plant modifications, coordinating technical design reviews and approval for implementation.
  9. Work with operations, delivery, and contracting teams to ensure maintenance strategy and running regime are optimised.
Requirements
  1. A minimum of an HNC, or preferably HND in Mechanical Engineering.
  2. At least 3 years' experience in a maintenance environment in a heavy industrial environment (power station, refinery, petrochemical, etc).
  3. A broad understanding of power station operations, specifically Combined Cycle Gas Turbines (CCGT).
  4. Ideally hold an IOSH or NEBOSH certificate.
Personal Skills
The successful candidate will be able to work well in a team or individually, with planning and organisational skills to prioritise jobs and manage resources.
