Our client is seeking an experienced Principal Ecologist to join their team in Gateshead. As a key member of the community, you will be responsible for leading and contributing to various projects, applying your expertise in field surveys, assessments, and reporting. You will guide clients through the planning and licensing processes, manage projects efficiently, and ensure timely delivery, financial oversight, and clear communication of recommendations.

• Lead Phase 1 habitat/UKHab assessments and conduct protected species surveys.
• Develop proposals and maintain high-quality standards.

• Degree or equivalent qualification in ecology.
• Protected species licence (ideally Level 2 bat licence).
