Job Title: Duty Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Duty Manager to join our team at AF Blakemore & Son Ltd. As a Duty Manager, you will play a key role in driving growth and success within our Vicars Cross SPAR store.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Store Manager in ensuring a safe, legal, and high-performing store environment.
  • Assist in delivering all store operations, objectives, and KPIs.
  • Manage, coach, and support colleagues to develop a motivated and empowered team.
  • Carry out performance management and absence management as necessary.
  • Take responsibility for occasional opening and closing of the store, colleague safety, and stock/cash security/accountability.
  • Conduct cash reconciliations, voids, and refunds, and other management tasks for till colleagues.
  • Lead the team to provide an exceptional customer experience and promote the store by engaging with the local community.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and processes.
Requirements:
  • Previous management or supervisor experience in a food retail or similar fast-paced operation.
  • Commitment to achieving and sustaining exceptional customer service standards.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize effectively.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills at all levels.
  • Ability to take appropriate action and make decisions.
  • Commitment to promoting collaborative working and developing own skills.
