Senior Scientific Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientific Software Engineer to join our team at Novax Recruitment Ltd.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and documenting new software changes to further develop capabilities in preparation for next-generation supercomputer architectures.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with experience in one or more compiled programming languages, such as Fortran, C, or C++. They will also have demonstrated competence in Python, Linux, and version control systems, such as GitHub or SVN.

The role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, including climate scientists, numerical modelers, and IT specialists, to understand and translate scientific requirements into scalable and efficient software solutions.

The successful candidate will have experience of working within a defined quality-focused development cycle and will be able to integrate and evaluate new processor designs and architectures within existing software frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement new software changes to further develop capabilities in preparation for next-generation supercomputer architectures
