We are seeking an experienced Senior Assembly Operations Lead to join our team at Royal Mail Group's Gloucester Manufacturing & Engineering Centre. This is a 12-month fixed-term full-time position.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of up to 40 assembly workers, engaging them in production and continuous improvement activities, and driving a culture of safety within the manufacturing environment.

About You

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • A proven track record of leading semi-automated assembly lines, with experience in problem-solving, driving continuous improvement, and creating Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to influence across all levels of the business and drive engagement indicators.
  • Tangible performance improvements through process improvement initiatives and route cause analysis.
  • Advanced tools and capabilities for managing across the full operating system of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People, and Environment.
  • A safety qualification, such as IOSHH (desired).
Responsibilities

As a Senior Assembly Operations Lead, you'll be responsible for:

  • Leading a team of assembly workers and engaging them in production and continuous improvement activities.
  • Driving a culture of safety within the manufacturing environment.
  • Managing the productivity of the Assembly Line, meeting predefined schedules, and maintaining product quality control.
  • Developing people by creating communication channels, focusing on people management, and developing skills.
  • Ensuring environmental compliance and promoting sustainability.
