Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to service and repair cleaning equipment in our Exeter depot. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our equipment.

The successful candidate will have experience in mechanical engineering, preferably with a focus on electrical engineering. A full UK driving license and willingness to travel are also essential requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To service and repair a wide range of Professional cleaning equipment in a workshop environment and perform onsite customer repairs when necessary.
  • Record all work performed, complete relevant service reports, and communicate effectively with customers and internal office staff.
  • Promote and sell maintenance contracts and other accessories to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicle in a satisfactory and safe condition at all times.
  • Control inventory of van spares to minimize downtime.
  • Represent the company professionally and promote the brand at all times.
  • Undertake additional duties as requested by management to meet business objectives.
  • Attend training sessions, meetings, and company events to stay updated on industry developments.

Requirements:

  • Three GCSEs at Grade C or equivalent, including English and Maths.
  • Preferably qualified in mechanical/electrical engineering.
  • Familiarity with the service and cleaning industries is desirable.
  • Experience in a workshop engineering role and/or working with cleaning equipment is preferred.
  • Excellent IT skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and customers.
  • Able to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Fully qualified driver with a valid UK license.
  • Willingness to travel within the designated area.

This is a permanent position, offering a competitive salary of £30,000 per annum and opportunities for growth and development.
