About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Highway Design Engineer to join our team at Strata Construction Consulting UK Ltd. As a key member of our traffic and transportation business, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality projects and contributing to the growth of our company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of preliminary designs (RIBA Stage 1-3 designs) in collaboration with our clients' existing teams.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to our team members.

Requirements
  • A good standard relevant degree, or a postgraduate qualification in transport or a suitable level of professional experience to demonstrate capability.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
  • A good standard relevant degree, or a postgraduate qualification in Civil Engineering or a suitable level of professional experience to demonstrate capability.
  • A good skill level and experience designing highways using AutoCAD, with experience in signal junction design desirable.
  • A working knowledge of industry guidance - TSRGD, Manual for Streets, LTNs etc.
  • A good level of professional work experience with Highway Authorities, with London experience highly desirable.
  • Project management skills.
  • Stakeholder/public engagement skills.
  • Ability to lead others and mentor junior team members.
  • Collaboration with consultancies from other disciplines (e.g. urban design).
  • Experience with other software packages such as: MS Office, GIS, Adobe Suite, Traffic sign design packages, Vehicle tracking and SketchUp.
