We are seeking a skilled and experienced social worker to join our team in Wigan, UK. This role involves working with foster carers, birth families, and children in care to ensure the best possible outcomes for vulnerable young people.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in social work or a related field and be registered with Social Work England. Proven experience working with children and families in a social work setting is essential.

The salary for this role is £35 per hour, and the contract duration is 6 months.

About the Role:

This exciting opportunity allows you to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families in need. As a qualified social worker, you will be responsible for assessing potential foster carers, providing support and guidance to foster carers and children, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Approval: Assess potential foster carers to ensure they can provide safe and nurturing homes for children.
  • Support and Guidance: Work with foster carers to meet the needs of the children in their care, and provide guidance and support to children in foster care.
  • Birth Family Support: Work with birth families to maintain contact and support reunification where possible.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with foster carers, birth families, and other stakeholders.
