At Darlington & District Hospice Movement, we are seeking dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistants to join our team. As a valued member of our Community Hospice team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our patients and their families.

Job Overview

As a Healthcare Assistant at Darlington & District Hospice Movement, you will work collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary team to provide high-quality care and support to patients with palliative care needs. Your primary responsibilities will include working within patients' own homes and in the hospice, providing personal and clinical care, and ensuring patient choice at the end of life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality patient care and support within patients' own homes and in the hospice.
  • Work collaboratively with the nursing and multi-disciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Provide personal and clinical care, including administering medication and assisting with daily living tasks.
  • Support patients and their families through the palliative care journey, promoting dignity and respect at all times.
Requirements

To be successful as a Healthcare Assistant at Darlington & District Hospice Movement, you will require:

  • A relevant qualification in Health and Social Care, such as an NVQ/QCF Level 3.
  • Previous experience of working in a healthcare setting, preferably in palliative care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • A full UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel.
