Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products, and services
  • Seeking out appropriate contacts within organisations
  • Generating leads and cold calling prospective customers
  • Creating a sales pipeline
  • Negotiating pricing with customers and suppliers
  • Conducting sales forecasts and analysis, and presenting findings to senior management
  • Meeting with customers and clients face-to-face
  • Understanding customer needs and responding effectively
  • Developing a good understanding of the company's products or services
  • Discussing sales strategy and activities with senior team members
  • Attending seminars, conferences, and events as appropriate
  • Staying up-to-date with trends and changes in the business world
