Student Support and Inclusion Facilitator

Empowering Learning is in search of a dedicated and exceptional individual to fulfill the role of a Student Support and Inclusion Facilitator within an alternative educational setting. This position focuses on supporting students aged 7-16 who experience Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.

This is a full-time, temporary-to-permanent position. The successful candidate will ideally have prior experience in behavioral support, with a strong interest in assisting Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4 students facing diverse behavioral and educational challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the class teacher and line manager to plan, monitor, and enhance students' wellbeing, learning behaviors, and social skills.
  • Oversee activities and assist in the overall management of students, providing tailored support during lessons where learning barriers exist.
  • Support the implementation of the Behavior Policy and respond appropriately to the unique needs of individual students.
  • Encourage positive behavior management by modeling effective strategies, particularly within the Isolation Unit.
  • Work as part of the Pastoral and Inclusion Team to offer essential support to disaffected or vulnerable students.
  • Engage with individuals or small groups to address behavior management, anger management, peer relationship development, and self-esteem enhancement.
  • Manage challenging behaviors of individual students, setting achievable improvement targets on a regular basis.
  • Assist students in a flexible manner during their reintegration into the classroom environment.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the welfare and success of children and young people, exhibiting tact, discretion, and diplomacy in all interactions with parents, students, and colleagues. A self-motivated individual with a personal drive to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality standards is essential.
