Job Title: Design & Project Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Design & Project Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical design, development, and qualification of tooling systems from concept to production with a focus on aerospace requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Tool and Equipment Management: Manage the tool and equipment list and ensure that it is complete and up to date as per departmental requirements.
  2. Engineering Reports: Produce engineering reports as required.
  3. CAD Design: Demonstrate competency in mechanical 3D CAD software Fusion 360 by working with complex and detailed drawings.
  4. Drawing Packs: Create drawing packs (BS888) for all in-house and external manufactured test rigs.
  5. Technical Support: Act as a point of contact for the internal departments for all tooling and equipment requirements.
  6. Test Equipment Support: Provide technical assistance to the MRO departments with regards to test equipment.
  7. Technical Consultation: Consult with and provide technical and engineering support within the group.
  8. Training and Development: Assist with training in new equipment and systems for technicians.
  9. Fault Finding: Carry out fault finding on test rigs.
  10. Equipment Fabrication: Fabricate/assemble equipment designed by the department for the workshop.
  11. Stock Management: Stock management and overhaul of key components.
  12. CAD Drawings: Complete CAD drawings for both internal and external fabrication.

Requirements:

  1. Qualifications: Degree/Qualification in Mechanical, Electrical Electronics Engineering.
  2. CAD Skills: High degree of competency in the use of CAD in Autodesk Inventor.
  3. Experience: 1-2 years experience in technical or engineering experience in the design of products.
  4. Commercial Awareness: Commercially aware.
  5. Machine Workshop Experience: Machine workshop experience.
  6. Engineering Knowledge: Good knowledge of the engineering process.
  7. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills.
  8. IT Skills: Sound IT skills.
  9. Teamwork: Be able to work as a team.
