Job Summary:

This is a senior-level position that requires extensive experience in designing complex structural systems using various materials, including concrete, steel, masonry, and timber. The successful candidate will lead multiple projects simultaneously, manage teams, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct conceptual, feasibility, and detailed design of structural systems
  • Review and check technical content of work carried out by others
  • Manage multiple projects with construction values over £3 million
  • Attend client and design team meetings
  • Train and mentor junior engineers
  • Perform structural surveying and provide advice on defects or issues

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Chartered or close to it (MICE/MIStructE)
  • Extensive experience in designing complex structural systems using various materials
  • Leadership experience in managing multiple projects
  • Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and software design packages such as Tedds, Tekla, and SCIA
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills
  • Able to motivate and inspire staff within the team

Estimated Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 per annum
